Count them as you put them in the bottle and write the number down somewhere hidden away from your guests. Also decorate a small shoe box to look like a puppy house the same color scheme as your decorations. As your guests enter, hand them a small pen or pencil and an index card in one of the colors of your theme. Ask them to guess how many puppy treats, pacifiers, or babies there are in the fire hydrant. Tell them to be sure to write their name, fold up their guess and place it in the dog house box. Some time near the end of the baby shower, open them up and give a prize to whomever gets closest to the actual count.
