Stop! Don’t pour latex on your cake. It’s not going to be a real ducky cake. Alright I guess you knew that. We’re going to help you gather up those great ideas for creation your cutest ever rubber ducky baby shower cake. Okay you’re allowed to wear some rubber gloves if you really must.So you’re going to need plenty of yellow frosting or fondant for your adorable ducky cake. You’ll also need a duck cake pan to bake your cake in. There is an adorable 3-D cake pan available for this task.

Once you have your cake baked and cooled, you’ll need to cover it in either yellow frosting or yellow fondant. Cover the bill in orange frosting or fondant, the eyes in blue pupils on a white background and you’ve got your baby shower’s rubber ducky cake ready to serve. Once your ducky is completely covered in delicious fondant or frosting, take some mini marshmallows, some corn syrup and blue food coloring. Mix the three ingredients together to make a “bubbly” concoction. Take handfuls of these “bubbles” and stick them to the bottom of your cake. Now your rubber ducky cake even has his suds gathered cozily around him!

Put a few wash cloths, a loofah, and a bar of “soap” made from gum paste or fondant right next to your baby shower cake.As you serve your Rubber Ducky cake, put on a shower cap to really get your guests laughing up a storm. There’s really no limit to the imagination you can muster on a cake like this.

This is a chocolate cake and inside is caramel buttercream frosting. I actually need to find a better recipe for this frosting, anyone have any ideas? Only because this one actually wound up tasting like maple. But anyways, everyone still loved it! Chocolate fondant wooden planks--actually took, choc., white and yellow fondant pieces together and pulled like candy makers to get the swirls in fondant. Another genius idea from a very crafty individual on this site. White buttercream piped to look like bubbles, real edible candy duckies bought when all the leftover Easter candy went on sale this yr! Green buttercream grass piped around base of cake. Fondant soap bar and hanging towel. This was my first attempt, but I was very pleased! Thanks for looking!

This is a cake that I made with/for my friends sister-in-laws baby shower. We took some ideas from some of the cakes we saw on Cake central and created our own version of it! We love it!! Turned out great!
