Baby Shower Decorations

Baby Shower Decorations

Choosing decoration for you up coming baby shower celebration can seem like a stressful, daunting task at times. That’s why we’re hear to help make it a fun, wonderful experience instead. We’ll give you some pointers on selecting everything from your wall decorations to your balloons, but we’ll make sure you’re still in total control of your own baby shower planning.

The best thing to do when beginning to look for your decorations is, of course, to select a baby shower theme that really speaks to you and that will make a lasting impression on your guests. This is your day to say to the world, “Here comes my child! Let’s celebrate in style!”

I suggest taking a look at our baby shower tableware section first. Your tableware will set the color scheme and lay out any special graphics you may be looking for on the rest of your party room.

After you have selected your tableware, follow up with applying wall appliques that follow the same colors and theme as your tableware. This might include single image appliques like a monkey, a lion, or a treasure chest or sectional appliques that serve as “windows” to your theme. It may be a small underwater scene that takes up a section of your wall, or a group of animals all huddled, and smiling together. You may also see full wall appliques that cover one, two, or three walls. While these appliques can sometimes be a little more challenging to put up, they really stand out once they are up and will make a huge difference as your guests arrive in setting the tone for your baby shower celebration. Balloons, , streamers, and confetti are also a great way to set a festive mood in your party room. Balloons come in rubber or mylar and can be as simple as a single color, or as lively as to come in ginormous sizes that look like everything from elephants to ladybugs. Your streamers will either be of a single color or may have special markings like spelling out, “Welcome baby” or “congratulations!” If you choose single color streamers, be sure to get at least two, but usually no more than three colors. One color can be boring, but four or more colors can seem gaudy so best to stick with two or three.

FInally, throwing out some confetti on your tables will put the finishing touch on your baby shower decorations. The confetti we talk about on this site isn’t the plain paper confetti you might make when you set a hole punch to construction paper. No, the confetti we’re talking about is the bright, festive, metallic confetti that comes in many, many shapes. The confetti, when looked at closely, will be in shapes like sports shapes, stars, or animal shapes.

Although you certainly aren’t limited to these few decorations, these are the basics of decorating for your baby shower party and should at the very least have these up by the time your first guest arrives.
