My husband and I are super excited! We just adopted a new baby....My mother is thinking of throwing us a baby shower for our new baby boy. Do you think it is appropriate to
send out Adoption Baby Shower Invitations? What kind of saying should we put in the invite?

First let me be the first on the site to say, "CONGRATULATIONS!"  Adopting a newborn or any child, for that matter, is a really big deal and a special event worthy of celebration.  The level of appropriateness is open to interpretation, but basically, the only thing that matters is whether you and your significant other are fine with the idea of sending out adoption baby shower invitations.  

The most important things to remember are that you and your baby should be at the forefront of the celebration. It’s okay for your mother to throw the baby shower, but don’t allow it to put a rift between you two either. If you feel that she will want everything run her way completely, then you’ll have to make the choice to tolerate it with cheerful grain of salt or to let her know lovingly, but firmly, that you will expect to have your input seriously considered.

Some ideas for sayings to put inside your invitations are:

-Being born into the family is wonderful, but being chosen is special! Come celebrate the newest member of our family with us.

-God hid a little angel here on earth, and we found (him or her)! We can’t wait to share our gift with our friends and family.

-Sometimes, the most beautiful blessings we experience are the ones that made us give all our effort to attain. We’ve received our blessing and we are so excited to announce it to the world!
